About the claim that AI will soon make most software engineers worthless.

I’ll believe it when I can page an AI at 3AM, go back to sleep, and have it autonomously root-cause and fix a production outage no matter the cause.

An AI can be paged at 3AM and find the root cause of a production outage and fix it on its own, whatever the cause.
